I ordered these on March 1st. The order was supposedly shipped on March 7th, but the tracking information said the status was, "Shipment ready for UPS" through March 13th. I finally reached out to UPS and the printer, and the package was miraculously updated that day to show that it had been picked up...at the printer's location...where it had been sitting since March 7th.
No apology. No acknowledgement that my package had been sitting there for the last week. Not even a shipping upgrade to get them here a little faster.
Okay, cool. Mildly irritating but things happen. Well, they finally arrived today. And almost every last one of them has been cut incorrectly. See how my name at the top is closer to the edge on one side than the other? And how the main image looks a little off?
I immediately went to my files to see if I'd made a mistake. Here's a screenshot of what I see in Photoshop.
One of these things is not like the other...
And I get it. Everyone makes mistakes. I would be much less heated if they had acknowledged the first error, and even less so if they'd taken steps to try to make it right. Now the order is incorrect and I'm not in the least bit happy.
I'm all about supporting indies and other small business owners as much as I can, and most of them do go above and beyond to try to get things right - or to make them right if they mess up.
So stuff like this frustrates me to no end. While I'm over here freaking out about an extra two letter word on the very last page of the backmatter in my newly released book, I've got another small business owner dropping the ball all over the place and not saying a word about it. (That extra word is gone, by the way. You're welcome. Haha!)
Sigh. I'm waiting to see if they take steps to correct this. I mean more than, "Well, send us the order back and we'll replace it in the next 7 to 10 business days after we receive it." Hopefully, they'll come through.
Fingers crossed! And if you've been waiting on a bookmark and other swag from me, I'm sorry. I'll get them shipped out just as soon as I can...
Peace and love, y'all.
